Privacy Policy
BattleRanking.com is an independent entertainment and public-opinion ranking platform.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use BattleRanking.com, why it is processed, how it may be protected and retained, and what rights may be available to you.
Platform operation and privacy contact
BattleRanking.com is independently operated and determines the purposes and means of the personal-data processing described in this Privacy Policy.
The platform does not currently require visitors to provide their name, email address or other identity information in order to view rankings, vote or submit a battle suggestion.
Privacy and data-protection requests may be sent to: support@battleranking.com
How the platform works
BattleRanking.com does not currently require visitors to create a personal account in order to view rankings, vote in battles or submit a battle suggestion.
Although no public voter profile is created, limited technical information is processed to operate the platform, record votes, provide internal analytics and protect the ranking system from manipulation and abuse.
Information we process
Depending on how you use the platform, BattleRanking.com may process the following categories of information:
- Vote information, including the relevant battle, selected side, vote time and technical status of the request.
- A first-party visitor identifier used to distinguish visits, enforce voting restrictions and reduce repeated abuse.
- A first-party analytics session identifier used to associate platform events occurring during the same visit or session.
- Limited technical information relating to the IP address, connection, request, device, operating system, browser and user-agent.
- Protected or hashed technical signals where such measures are implemented for security, rate limiting or abuse prevention.
- Internal analytics events, such as page views, battle impressions, section impressions, ranking interactions, modal openings, navigation events and other platform actions.
- The text entered into the battle suggestion form.
- Information showing whether a suggestion was accepted, blocked or rejected by technical or anti-abuse controls.
- Standard server, network, security, diagnostic and error logs generated when the platform receives or processes a request.
- Information voluntarily included in a message sent directly to BattleRanking.com by email.
Battle suggestions
The battle suggestion form currently requests only the proposed battle text. It does not require a name, email address or public account.
Visitors should not include personal data, confidential information or sensitive information in a battle suggestion.
Suggestions may be reviewed, edited, accepted, combined, postponed, rejected or removed. Technical information connected with a submission may be processed to prevent spam, automated requests and misuse of the form.

Information may be processed for the following purposes:
- Operating and maintaining BattleRanking.com.
- Recording votes and updating battle results.
- Calculating live rankings and historical ranking totals.
- Enforcing voting rules and cooldown restrictions.
- Detecting duplicated, automated or manipulated activity.
- Preventing spam, fraud, attacks and other platform abuse.
- Maintaining secure sessions and CSRF protection.

Legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, processing may rely on one or more of the following:
- The legitimate interests of operating, securing, protecting and improving BattleRanking.com.
- The legitimate interest in maintaining fair voting and preventing manipulation, fraud, spam and automated abuse.
- The legitimate interest in responding to functions requested by a visitor, such as recording a vote or receiving a battle suggestion.
- Consent, where required for non-essential storage, analytics, personalized advertising or similar technologies.
- Compliance with legal obligations and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Where processing is based on consent, consent may be withdrawn through the consent controls made available on the platform. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.
First-party analytics
BattleRanking.com uses internal first-party analytics to understand platform usage and improve its functionality, performance and design.
These analytics may record events such as:
- Page views and platform sessions.
- Battle and section impressions.
- Battle-modal openings and ranking interactions.
- Interactions with period filters and navigation elements.
- Requests to load additional battles.
- Successful or blocked battle suggestions.
- Technical status and performance information.
Analytics are intended to measure use of the platform rather than create public profiles of individual voters.
Where analytics storage or tracking is not strictly necessary under applicable law, it will be activated only after the required consent has been obtained.
Technical identifiers and abuse prevention
BattleRanking.com uses first-party technical identifiers and may use limited technical or hashed signals to distinguish visits, associate events with a session, enforce voting restrictions and protect the platform.
These measures may help identify patterns such as repeated requests, unusually rapid activity, automated traffic, vote manipulation, spam or attempts to bypass platform restrictions.
Technical identifiers are not intended to publicly identify a voter or reveal the voter’s real-world identity.
Public battle results
Battle results, vote totals, percentages, Global Top rankings and Top Battles rankings are public.
Public rankings display aggregated platform results relating to battle sides and entities. They do not display the identity, technical identifier or IP address of an individual voter.
Advertising and Google services
BattleRanking.com may introduce Google AdSense or other advertising services. Advertising spaces shown on the platform do not necessarily mean that third-party advertising systems are already active.
When advertising services are enabled, Google and other selected advertising providers may process information through cookies, local storage, online identifiers or similar technologies for:
- Advertising delivery.
- Advertising measurement and reporting.
- Fraud and abuse prevention.
- Frequency management.
- Contextual advertising.
- Personalized advertising where legally permitted and validly consented to.
Where required, non-essential advertising technologies will remain inactive until the appropriate consent choice has been obtained.
When advertising services requiring consent are introduced, relevant users may be presented with a consent-management interface that identifies participating advertising providers and allows available choices to be accepted, rejected or changed.
Third-party links
BattleRanking.com contains links to third-party services, including TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
A standard external link does not necessarily transmit personal data to the linked service before it is selected. When a visitor follows an external link, the third party may process information under its own terms and privacy policy.
BattleRanking.com does not control the privacy or security practices of external platforms.
Sharing of information
BattleRanking.com does not sell personal data.
Limited information may be disclosed to service providers where reasonably necessary to host, secure, maintain, measure or support the platform.
Information may also be disclosed:
- When required by law or a valid legal request.
- To protect the platform, visitors or third parties.
- To investigate fraud, attacks or unlawful activity.
- To establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
- As part of a legitimate business reorganization, transfer or acquisition, subject to applicable safeguards.
If advertising services are introduced, data may also be shared with the providers identified through the applicable consent interface and advertising disclosures.
Hosting, network security and Cloudflare
BattleRanking.com uses hosting, network, security and content-delivery providers to make the platform available, improve performance and protect it against attacks, automated abuse and other malicious activity.
BattleRanking.com uses Cloudflare for network delivery, SSL/TLS, security, traffic protection and related technical services. Requests may pass through Cloudflare’s network before reaching the platform’s hosting infrastructure.
In providing these services, Cloudflare may process limited technical information, including:
- IP addresses.
- Request dates and times.
- Requested pages, resources and URLs.
- HTTP request and response information.
- Browser, device, operating-system and user-agent information.
- Network, connection and protocol information.
- Security, bot-detection and abuse-prevention signals.
- Diagnostic, performance and network log information.
This information may be processed to deliver traffic, maintain encrypted connections, improve availability and performance, detect malicious requests, prevent attacks, enforce security rules and maintain service reliability.
Depending on the relevant service and processing activity, Cloudflare may process personal data as a service provider or processor on behalf of BattleRanking.com, or under the roles described in Cloudflare’s applicable contractual and privacy documentation.
International processing
Some hosting, security, network, technical or advertising providers may process information in countries outside the visitor’s country of residence.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, appropriate transfer mechanisms and contractual or technical protections will be used where available and required.
Data retention
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including platform operation, ranking continuity, security, abuse prevention, moderation, analytics and legal compliance.
In particular:
- Vote totals and ranking information may be retained as part of the platform’s current and historical results.
- Individual vote records may be retained where needed to calculate results, investigate manipulation and maintain ranking integrity.
- Battle suggestions may be retained while they are reviewed, moderated or considered for future publication.
- Technical identifiers and anti-abuse records may be retained for the period needed to enforce voting restrictions and investigate suspicious activity.
- Analytics information may be retained for platform measurement, comparison and improvement.
- Server, Cloudflare, network, security and error logs may be retained for a limited period appropriate to traffic delivery, security, debugging and service reliability.
- Information connected to legal disputes or valid requests may be retained for the period required to handle the matter.
Retention periods may be shortened or extended where required by technical necessity, legal obligations, active security investigations or the defence of legal claims.
Security
BattleRanking.com uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information and maintain the integrity of voting and ranking systems.
These measures may include encrypted connections, Cloudflare security services, access controls, secure sessions, request validation, CSRF protection, rate limiting, hashing, logging and automated abuse-detection controls.
No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Visitors should avoid submitting confidential or sensitive information through public platform forms.
Children
BattleRanking.com is a general-audience entertainment platform and does not intentionally request account registration or knowingly build personal profiles of children.
Visitors should not submit personal data relating to a child through the battle suggestion form.
If you believe that a child has submitted personal information that should not be held by the platform, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights concerning personal data connected to you, including the right to:
- Request access to personal data.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of data in applicable circumstances.
- Request restriction of processing.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Request portability of data where the legal requirements are satisfied.
- Lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority.
BattleRanking.com does not currently require personal accounts. As a result, the platform may not be able to connect a visitor’s identity to a particular technical identifier, vote or session without additional information.
A person making a request may therefore need to provide enough information to locate the relevant record and demonstrate that the request concerns them. Additional personal data will not be requested where the relevant person cannot reasonably be identified or where identification is unnecessary.
Automated security decisions
Automated technical controls may temporarily block, challenge or limit a vote, suggestion, administrative-area request or other request when activity appears duplicated, automated, unusually frequent or otherwise abusive.
These controls may include Cloudflare security challenges and platform-level anti-abuse restrictions.
These controls protect the service and ranking integrity. They do not produce legal effects or similarly significant decisions about an identified individual.
Cookies and similar technologies
Additional information about cookies, local storage, session identifiers, visitor identifiers, analytics and advertising technologies is available in the Cookie Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when BattleRanking.com changes its technical systems, processing activities, ownership, advertising services or legal requirements.
The current version of this Privacy Policy will be published on this page.
